Super Sunday
On Sunday the team at Tradeline attended the SDC Super Sunday Football Tournament held at the Cambridge University Sports Campus.
The event is one of a series being put together by our client SDC Builders as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations. They have already donated to two very worth causes, Bowel Cancer UK and the Royal British Legion. Following the football tournament they will also be donating a further £5,000 apiece to the East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) and the Lighthouse Club Charity, taking the total amount raised so far to £30,000.
The football event was sponsored by MTW Architectural and Tradeline were one of 20 teams represented at the event with SDC also entering a number of internal teams alongside Munro, University of Cambridge Sports, Gridlocked, C.Jackson & Sons, Scott White & Hookins, Henry Riley, MJS Construction, CPS, Fortus and CPW.
After suffering a defeat to Henry Riley in the opening group game the Tradeline team fought back with a hard fought draw with SDC (Team 3) and a comprehensive victory over MJS to narrowly progress to the “Champions League” section of the draw. From there they overcame Team Fortus 2-1 in the Quarter Finals and a solid semi-final performance saw them overcome a strong Munro side 2-0 to progress to the Final. In the final they met SDC (Team 4) where two goals in quick succession by Dean Warren and Stevie Blackwood were enough for the Tradeline team to clinch the victory.
